According to reports, through continuous and strict supervision, high-pressure crackdown and comprehensive treatment in recent years, the work of banning foreign garbage from entering the country has achieved remarkable results. The total import volume of solid waste decreased significantly, from 22.63 million tons in 2018 to 13.48 million tons in 2019. From January to October this year, 6.69 million tons of imports were declared, a year-on-year decrease of 42.7%; the number of suspected cases of smuggling waste decreased year by year, from 481 in 2018 to 372 in 2019, and 180 cases were investigated and handled from January to October this year, a year-on-year decrease of 43.2%.
